Hells Gate Brewing have created some perfect summer brews
There’s no shortage of new brews out there this summer; here’s one from the home turf. Named for the Hell’s Gate rapids in the Fraser Canyon, some 50 kilometres north of Hope, two newcomers are cooling down the summer heat. Hell’s Gate Premium Lager and Hell’s Gate Genuine Pale Ale can be had in six- or 15-packs. (The sixer of 355-millilitre cans costs $8.95 at the LDB; haven’t seen any fifteeners yet.) As has pretty much become the norm with locally brewed beers, these are “all natural” and are made with B.C. water and B.C. malt. They’re light (but not lite, if you take my meaning), very fresh, and just spritzy enough to fit with food. At www.hellsgatebrewing.com/, they’re targeting the home team with outdoor-activities messages, along with info on cool places to hang out when the sun’s shining.
