Joy of Feeding dishes up family favourites for UBC Farm

Cooking isn’t just a chore—for many mothers, it’s about love and nourishment. That’s the message of the Joy of Feeding, an event that takes place May 15 on-site as a fundraiser for UBC Farm (6182 South Campus Road). Organized by Vij’s Meeru Dhalwala and Terra Breads’ Mary MacKay, it brings together 15 moms, each of a different cultural heritage and profession, who will be cooking their favourite family dishes. Participants can sample each dish and take home a recipe booklet that contains them all, providing inspiration to cook from scratch with local ingredients. Adult tickets cost $50 and include entry for one child under 12 (additional kids six and under are free). Buy them at Choices Markets or at the Joy of Feeding website.
