If you appreciate good olives, be sure to stop by Parthenon Supermarket (3080 West Broadway) when you’re in Kitsilano. The Greek deli offers a nice selection of the salty orbs for reasonable prices. My favourites are the organic green olives stuffed with lemon peel ($1.85 per 100 grams), which are firm with a mild, citrus-y centre. They’re great for snacking alongside pita and Parthenon’s feta-and-yogurt-based God’s Dip ($1.69 per 100 grams), and they add a fresh burst to a martini. Or just pop ’em straight from the bowl.
