St. Peter's Organic English Ale

Comments

This week's--month's?--big new fave: robust, fresh St. Peter's Organic English Ale ($4.25 for a half-litre). Bracing and with a cool, crisp bite, it's nonetheless hearty, rich, and super-smooth, with the perfect amount of not-in-your-face (or -nose) carbonation. I know it's early, but it'll still be here when we tally the best of the year--if they keep it in stock at the LDB. (Hope it sticks around for lawn-cutting season.) Now, where's the pub food? Roast ribs, chops, sausage with chips, cheese, pickles, Branston sauce. The oval bottle--some 1770s replica--jumps out from the rest, just as the flavours do. The ingredients are organic, too. It's a winner.
