Two gin-based standards and standbys
In terms of standards and standbys, one of the oldest drinks in the bar book is the original Pink Gin, the Royal Navy’s best creation. Apparently it ameliorates seasickness. In case you’ve forgotten, it contains 1 measure gin, 2 or 3 dashes Angostura bitters. Coat the sides of your martini glass with the bitters, add the chilled gin, and enjoy. I like using Victoria Spirits Twisted & Bitter Orange Bitters. Some Liberty stores carry it.
Or maybe a Gin Fizz?
3 parts gin
1 1/2 parts lemon juice
3/4 part lime juice
1 Tablespoon powdered sugar
ice
club soda
Combine everything except the soda and shake. Add soda (and more ice if you think it needs it).
