Homer & West Pender Encounter

It felt electric. You kept staring. Turned around even. I said you were going the wrong way. And so you came back. And then we chatted for a bit while your friend kindly waited. Trying to encourage me to join you for a drink. But I was on my way to dancing. And so you went on your way. And I went on my way. You promised you'd remember my number...but here I am, thinking what if... And now I'm thinking that maybe you weren't free, and that's why you didn't give me your number. It's a much could've happened.

When: Sunday, May, 21 2017

You were house-sitting for your friends in my building recently. I was hoping for another chance to chat but I haven't seen you around. On the odd chance you might see this, drop me a line. T

Fireball BBQ

You arrived late to a BBQ in East Van where the guest of honor has a healthy obsession with fireball. We locked eyes and introduced ourselves - your name started with a K; mine with an A. You had on clear rimmed glasses and a black hat, while your hands were covered in bicycle grease. I was wearing a dress with Venus fly trap floral on it and I have fire red hair with blue eyes. My friends and I went on a mission for smokes near the end of the night and I didn't get a chance to give you my number - bike ride and a beer some time?

Diva's Den 2017

You were sitting front row center. enthusiastically cheering for and tipping all the hard working performers. Your hair was dark, the sides of your head were shaved with intricate geometric patterns, and you wore a star contact in your left eye. You spoke passionately and enthusiastically about your avid volunteerism and your belief in harm reduction. At one point you reached out to hug me, and then realized we didn't know each other well, and double checked to get consent. I very willingly obliged. Later that night you and your blonde femme friend won the 50/50 draw and donated it back to the Dyke March. We cabbed together to Babes on Babes, but I had needed to drop my performer gear at my friend's house before joining the party. At one point you waved to me as you were passing by. I had hoped to catch up with you, but you disappeared before I could. This sassy vibrant haired pole performer would love to get to know you better. If you see this, please track me down.

Our eyes met and I couldn't stop looking away

This is a long shot and worth it, if you see it ;) I was walking down Lonsdale with a guy, not my boyfriend and our eyes caught each other. You were with another guy. Corner table. We keep looking at each other. The connection had me thinking about you as I was walking home. Do you live close by? What were you thinking of? Help me get you out of my mind!

Welk Mart Guy

I come by once a week, and it always makes me happy to see you. I feel like we've always had a pleasant nod, but have never really spoken. I don't want to ask you out at work, because I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but I find you intriguing. I also think you look fantastic in plaid. If you're down, I'd love to go for coffee. I am a blue eyed brunette, hopefully that rings a bell.

Waiting a little too long for the bus

Hi, This is probably a long shot, but here goes. There was a huge line up by waterfront and we were standing next to each other waiting for the bus. I didn't really have the guts to start up a full out conversation, but we made some small talk about how long the bus was taking. I ended up getting on Main bus and I think you ended up waiting longer for the Fraser. I wish I had waiting with you. I was wearing all black. You're totally not gonna read this. If you drink?

Tongue-tied on the Skytrain

We both got on at Granville. You got off at commercial, I had on shorts, a grey sweatshirt and a toque. You had short dark hair. We made eye contact and smiled at each other but I couldn't think of anything to say. If you see this lets get a drink, I'm sure I can think of something worthwhile to say.

Your were tired but interest

I was behind you in line at PriceSmart in Richmond. You were wearing a black knit skirt and a white black and red knit top. They were snug on you, but not too tight. You looked tired, but interested. I was interested, too.

Icecream at IGA

We saw each other while waiting line at the IGA. I was there, in search for Haagen Dazs which I could not find in the frozen section, settled on a tasty alternative brand. You had what I was searching for and I asked where you found the Dazs, you kindly gave me directions where to find it. That meant I gave up my spot inline, wish I saw you after to say thanks. You had a certain presence to you . Ice cream one day?

You waved at me twice at Super Store

I was shopping at the Langley Super Store when I noticed a beautiful blonde woman wearing black top and pants. You kept looking and smiling at me. Just before you left you waved to me twice from the check out counter. I wish I would have stopped to say hi and give you my number. I was very flattered by your attention and I can't stop thinking about you! I need to find you! I think we would really hit it off! Please respond if you read this!

Gilmore Guy on the Millennium Line

Noticed you first on the skytrain platform at Commercial/ Broadway. Then when getting into the skytrain you ended up sitting facing me on the opposite side. You were wearing a red hoody, a cap, (jeans?) with a backpack. I was in a bright salmon coloured sweater, black capri pants and had a tan purse. I avoided making eye contact because I thought you were super attractive and I'd be too obvious. Not sure you're the type to ever read one of these posts but in the off chance you do we should grab coffee sometime.

How do I spill the beans?

I buy coffee from you sometimes during the week. I am a little shy so sometimes I am not as chatty as I would like to be, especially since you are working. I have wanted to ask you out for a while now, but it never seems like an appropriate time. We've really only ever talked about calibrating the sketchy espresso machine at the cafe, but would you like to hang out and talk about other stuff sometime?

The blondest hair and the bluest eyes

You were leaving a grocery store on Commerical Drive when I caught your eye. You: beautiful blonde haired man with the bluest eyes I've ever seen. Me: shy brunette holding packets of hot chocolate. Was it just me, or did my eyes turn into hearts when we looked at each other? Maybe you would like to sit in my chair while I make you some hot chocolate?

at the race track

We chatted at the paddock Sunday afternoon in the sunshine. You were with your mom on Mother's Day. We were watching the horses go around the paddock and commenting on them. Both of us mentioned a horse that ran earlier that day and won, & how we both had strong feelings about the chances of that horse. I had to walk away to hide the fact I was blushing, but minutes later couldn't stop kicking myself. I felt the Earth move and it was unmistakable. If you're reading this , then you felt it too!

In line, outside the Metrople

You: Vivacious brunette wearing a nice suede jacket dreading an encounter with your friend's ex-boyfriend. You love the New Ox. Me: In Vancouver, looking for things I have yet to find. Came from the U2 concert. You grazed your fingers gingerly down from the lapel of my tanned leather jacket to the button stance. Only one of the three buttons remained and you undid the middle one and said I should pop the jacket collar up. For that split millisecond, I found what I was looking for.

Carrying home some groceries on the bus I had the pleasure of your company in the seat next to me :) I thought about striking up a conversation, but got shy! We didn't talk except for me thanking you for letting me out. You: long dark-red beard, great smile. Me: glasses, green pants, carrying produce in my lap. Thanks for the laugh and wave as you drove away! If you'd like to grab a coffee, you now know where to find me.

You were at an audition, I was helping a friend with her car

Right by the park, on the benches, I wanted to talk to you because you seemed weird and funny and smart and definitely beautiful, but then we spoke briefly (and were you looking at my left hand for a wedding ring?) and you turned out to be talented and terribly gracious, and a decent person too, because you wouldn't openly hit on a man who seemed to be with a woman but I wasn't. (deep breath in) And while she's my friend, she was once more than that though it's ancient history so maybe you picked up on that vibe but while we're the best of friends I only know her as that now and it's out of respect for her and some ancient knighthood one of my ancestors probably finagled that I didn't tell you right then and there any one of the following things. Your hair is lovely, your face shows a fine character, you're a damned fine looking and seeming woman and I wanted to get to know you but it was ever so slightly awkward and if you by some chance read this I'll write you long elegiac letters with punctuation and full stops and properly edited thoughts instead of this stream of conscience and consciousness (which is the only way I'll get this out at all because if I start I'll ever overthink and then give up but don't think I'm always this much of a flake because behind the neurosis is an ocean of tenderness for anyone who can look through my rough exterior to my rough interior and move in and set up camp because even though I'm a man I'm a nurturer and you have no idea what I'm capable of if I'm loved and respected because I have so much fucking love to give it kills me sometimes that it's going fallow and to seed so take a chance because who knows we might just hit it off) whew ok that 's done, it's about a third of what was going on inside me when I looked at you I felt like a teenager with a hormone-fuelled crush, looking at you.
