I was cycling home from work along the cycle path on Powell Street, you were on the sidewalk with the chain of your bike jammed. I offered to help, as working on bikes is what I do. You are from Newfoundland, and I have an accent. We chatted while I had your bike upside down, and I may be wrong, but I think there might have been a bit of an attraction between us. There was for me. And then a few weeks later we passed in the opposite direction, and you waved. It was morning, and I was half asleep. I thought " Why is this woman waving at me?" until it clicked. I think I rang my bell though. I thought it best just to help and go, but I've been thinking about you since. If you read this, maybe say hello.

It was Sunday morning May 1, there was the BMO Vancouver Marathon occurring. You were riding your bike on the sidewalk where you passed me and my dog. You turned around and crossed the street and asked me if I was single. Unfortunately, I'm not but since that moment I'm regretting not getting your name or number. I was sat on the steps in the sun taking in the view and a coffee waiting for a friend who was donating blood. You strode out of the clinic to a bench; our eyes met, I smiled and looked away. You had a snack, there were a few more glances in each other’s direction, I walked past to throw something away and wished for something to start a conversation over. You were in my spin class, front row. Shoulder-length black hair, it was down when you walked in, but you tied it back before the class started. Looks like you just got a haircut - it looks so good! I was so happy to see you there, you pushed me to work harder even though I was sooo tired that morning before class- more tired than I have felt in a while. I have long black hair and bangs, headphones, and am usually reading on the train. You get on at King Ed with your book and your head is shaved. I’ve been seeing you for months and we are often walking together in the mornings down Water St. I work at a law firm a block east from you. I smiled at you at Waterfront a few weeks ago, and I’m super shy. You rode your bike past me on Water on Tuesday morning and smiled back. We were both late that morning.
