Hey Jude spring pop-up shop makes vintage fashion easy

There’s wearing vintage, and then there’s shoppingfor vintage. As nice as it is to say that you found that cool 1940s dress or one-of-a-kind pair of boots while rummaging through the racks and bins at your local thrift shop, truth is, we don’t always have the time—or patience. That’s where curated vintage comes in.

Vancouverites Lyndsey Chow and Lauren Clark have been shopping for vintage for years, so to say that the two have developed quite an eye for separating treasure from trash would be an understatement. In 2010, the Chow and Clark launched Hey Jude, a series of well-edited vintage collections that would occasionally “pop-up” in retail spaces found around the city.

The Hey Jude spring 2013 pop-up shop takes place at the Chinatown Experiment Space (434 Columbia Street) starting today (March 7) to Sunday (March 10). Store hours run 12 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday to Sunday.

The spring collection will include lighter pieces that work seamlessly with this season’s trends. Look for silk blouses, detailed kimonos, bursts of floral patterns, and smart leather shoes. This will also be the first Hey Jude event to include a men’s collection, as well as antique and handmade furniture from Union Wood Co. and jewellery from Vancouver Island’s Wolf Circus.
