The grape harvest is well underway in the Okanagan, and plans are shaping up for the 35th annual Fall Okanagan Wine Festival.

Taking place from October 1 to 11, the festival consists of over 120 events throughout the Valley, from Osoyoos in the south to Vernon and further north.

Signature events include the B.C. Wine Awards and reception on October 1 and the Fall Westjet Wine Tastings on October 2 and 3 in Kelowna.

Amid wine-pairing dinners, winery open houses, and grape stomping parties, there are two new signature events.

On October 9 and 10, Cropped brings together 80 wineries for tasting at the Pentiction Convention Centre. Along with musical buskers, the event features a farmers market to help with the harvest spirit. Billed as B.C.'s largest wine tasting, this event replaces the Grand Finale Consumer Tasting of previous years.

On Thanksgiving Sunday (October 11) Watermark Beach Resort in Osoyoos will host a farm-to-table brunch that features Okanagan sparkling wine producers. The brunch features Okanagan Sockeye salmon that was caught in Osoyoos Lake, an organic omelette station, carving station, local cheeses, and housemade charcuterie. Tickets are great value at $35 (plus tax and gratuity) per person.
