Holiday pop-up shops curate stylish vintage gifts

      Two pop-up shops curating vintage apparel, jewellery, and gifts are opening just in time for the holidays. The Beggar’s Banquet Holiday Shoppe launches at the Chinatown Experiment (434 Colombia Street) today (December 5), while the Found & the Freed and Hey Jude collaborative pop-up opens Saturday (December 7) at 3088 Main Street.

      The Beggar’s Banquet is a monthly flea market that usually takes place at 213 East Georgia Street. Vendors sell antique and vintage goodsfrom clothes and shoes, to home collectables, and artisanal handmade items and edibles. Last year, Beggar’s Banquet held its holiday market for one day, but this year, organizers are planning a pop-up shop open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until December 15.

      Holiday Shoppe vendors include Dani Press, the Strathcona Seed Company, Sugo Sauce, Meghan Paterson, Angelus Novus, Red Flag Design, Bella Creatura, Salvage Style, Mellifera Bees, Lissu, Finds & Furnishings, Reassembly, Ollo Tea Company, Sarita Mann Design Studio, James Steildle Woodworking, Hey Jude, Wasted Effort, Larry Designs, Wulf Works, Twenty One Tonnes, Athena Atelier, Young Oak, Open Season, and Old Fashioned Standards.

      A second vintage-focused pop-up shop will run in Mount Pleasant from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily until December 21. The Found & the Freed and Hey Jude combine to host a one-of-a-kind selection of antiques, artifacts, and skillfully reworked vintage clothing.
