Your horoscope for January 30 to February 5, 2014

January started on a supermoon and ends on one too. Thursday’s new moon in Aquarius gains extra voltage from Uranus, Jupiter, Pluto, and Venus.

Friday (January 31) begins the Lunar New Year—the year of the Wood Horse. The day has several major planetary alignments. First to report is Jupiter’s opposition to Pluto, a pairing that has been building steam all month. This is the second peak of a cycle that began last August and continues to the next peak in April/May. Driven by growing need, insecurity, threat, a prized goal post, or an approaching deadline, Jupiter/Pluto now hits power-play and power-surge time. What occurs next is huge.

We’ll see major players, big business, corporations, governments, political agendas, and money markets on the move. Watch for a major announcement, release, event, big squeeze, crackdown, or takeover. Jupiter/Pluto can up the ante on terrorist threats, but the Sochi Olympics’ security is likely to be greatly beefed up too. Weather could give us a run for it as well. Moving on to the positive, this can be a major accomplish-the-objective time. Sunday’s Super Bowl should be quite the game.

The end of Venus retrograde on Friday afternoon can remove a block, or end a delay or stonewall. Benefiting the ambitious agenda, Venus now enhances progress, gain, and achievement. Continuing in Capricorn to March, Venus supports build-it-better efforts. The current window of opportunity is very short, though. Mercury enters Pisces on Friday and turns retrograde next Thursday.

March 20 - April 19

Through Tuesday, you’ll find yourself lightning-quick on the uptake, so by all means when the instinct, impulse, or inspiration strikes, leap into it. Thursday’s supermoon in Aquarius brings you, it, or us to life. Your fighting spirit, creativity, career prospects, and social life hit a fresh reboot. Something potent is on brew. Watch for Mercury retrograde, starting next Thursday, to reveal more.

April 19 - May 20

Thursday/Friday sparks a sudden insight, a moment of truth, news, an exciting event or opportunity, a surprise or shock. Whether or not you travel, you’ll find yourself on a radical departure from where you’ve just been. Now through next Wednesday can dish up an exceptionally opportune fresh start. Career, business, moneymaking, or relationships hit a major breakthrough or takeoff time.

May 20 - June 21

A great social, professional, or financial prospect could come your way, thanks to Thursday’s supermoon. Luck and good timing are on your side. Mercury in Pisces can open a fresh window or door, but the opportunity is fleeting, as retrograde begins next Thursday. Make sure to fly with it now and gift yourself with as much advantage or lead time as you can.

June 22 - July 22

Perhaps you’ve sensed or witnessed it building for a while. The next few days can thrust it into full tilt, perhaps unexpectedly so. On the plus side, Thursday’s supermoon can prompt a major breakthrough regarding a health, partnership, financial, legal, or addiction challenge. On a more jarring note, you could be hit hard by something you didn’t see coming.

July 22 - August 22

Great new prospects, discoveries, and solutions are on the horizon. Thursday/Friday can kick-start something financially lucrative or personally opportune. You can expect that good buzz to keep going strong. Even though Mercury starts retrograde next Thursday, a new job, project, course, or health initiative couldn’t be better timed. Newfound independence, travel for business, pleasure, or romance hits it right too.

August 22 - September 22

Person, place, thing, or thought—a single moment could burst it wide-open for you. Held up no longer, Thursday’s new moon and the end of Venus retrograde can deliver a long-awaited break, release, solution, or opportunity. Mercury’s temporary dip into Pisces may make it easier to convey your feelings, to unwind, and to dissolve pent-up feelings and anxiety.

September 22 - October 22

Things can change in a flash. Thursday/Friday’s stars could make you feel like someone just opened a window and let you out. Now is an ideal time to get a move on. You’ll find that timing is suddenly on your side. Inspiration and same-page rapport are at the ready. Plans and ambitions come together well. Friday and Monday/Tuesday, life hits full thrust.

October 22 - November 21

Thursday’s super new moon brings an ideal time to start a home renovation or scout for new digs. It’s also an optimal time to launch a new business venture, personal improvement, or health initiative. A new family or life circumstance is now taking shape. The end of Venus retrograde on Friday could get an important dialogue, project, legal matter, or financial issue moving.

November 21 - December 21

A wait, holdback, or build-up period now ends. As of Thursday/Friday’s fresh page, you’ll find you can say, create, find, do, and move things along with greater ease and speed. Put it into drive and you’ll find yourself on an immediate gain. Take full advantage of this short window, especially Monday through Wednesday. Mercury retrograde can bring drain, uncertainty, or dissipation.

December 21 - January 19

Things can come together for you beautifully now. Riding high on Thursday’s supercharged new moon, the end of Venus retrograde on Friday signals an auspicious time for all new initiatives, contracts, ambitions, and investments. Even though you may take on more, ultimately you’re liberating yourself. Accomplish, complete, or secure as much as you can by next Wednesday.

January 19 - February 18

You won’t need a caffeine kick-start once Thursday’s new moon works its way through your veins. The stars now replenish you with super-fuel. You can make better, more rapid progress in the next few days than you have in recent weeks. Monday/Tuesday, dive in full tilt. On Wednesday, ease up, let it create itself.

February 18 - March 20

Watch for better and more lucrative potentials to show up for you now. Something new or out of the blue could sweep you away. Thursday’s supermoon can boost your social life, earnings, and profits. An introduction, a first, a new discovery, or a goal has plenty of shelf life. Through next Wednesday, give it your all, run with it.
