Mercury begins a three-week retrograde period on Saturday at 4:57 a.m. Perhaps you’ve already noticed some of the trickster cycle’s effects; we’ve been in the shadow or preliminary phase for the past week or so.

While Mercury is retrograde, we can be sidetracked, be derailed, make mistakes, or face extra problems or expenses. However, we can revisit, revise, repeat, and redo. In fact, this is the best use of the cycle. Through July 1, proceed with extra caution and delay the important or big-ticket stuff. If you must take action, think in terms of temporary or trial run, have a Plan B or exit strategy, save the receipt.

Mercury retrograde in Cancer targets matters to do with home, family, real estate, water, food, nurturance, nourishment, security, and safety.

Mercury retrograde makes it harder to stay on schedule or on track, stick to the rules, or maintain good control. However, Sunday’s Venus/Pluto trine holds it steady where it counts the most. What will be, will be. What falls apart or doesn’t work out was not meant to be. Let it go, move on.

Neptune stations retrograde on Monday. A subtle influence, it will set a trend, uncover or reveal something key. Neptune retrograde gives way, allows, or opens up. It sets the stage for Thursday’s full moon in Sagittarius. Accompanied by Venus/Saturn in opposition, it’s a result-generating day. Watch for something significant to end, complete, crystallize, or launch.

Aries
March 20 - April 19

People can surprise you. Someone close to you, perhaps a family member or someone within your inner circle, can do a complete turnaround. Beginning in the sign of Cancer, Mercury retrograde keeps you busy with renovations on every level. There’s a great opportunity to get back on track. Next Thursday’s full moon brings the long-awaited into being.

Taurus
April 19 - May 20

Whether it’s face to face or through the wanderings of your mind, a trip down memory lane is a common occurrence during Mercury retrograde. The start of the cycle puts you back in touch with yourself in some important way. It could cause you to rethink an involvement, a plan, or a job. On Sunday, take your best shot. Next Thursday delivers the goods, positive or negative.

Gemini
May 20 - June 21

Pay closer attention to your intuition and follow its advice. If you aren’t sure what it’s saying, put yourself on hold and allow for circumstances to show you the way. Saturday through Monday can kick-start something interesting or lucrative. You’ll avert, avoid, bypass, or reach a breakthrough. Held up no longer, as of next Thursday’s full moon, the brakes come off.

Cancer
June 21 - July 22

Your body wants you to get the message. Your conscience does too. For the next few weeks, Mercury retrograde in Cancer prompts you to take a step back, reassess, and work on better self-care. Soul-search, regroup, heal, and replenish. To next Thursday, let the chips fall where they may; it could work out quite well for you.

Leo
July 22 - August 22

There’s more going on than is obvious. Then again, perhaps you’re the one keeping your cards close to your chest. Either way, Venus trine Pluto holds it in place while Mercury and Neptune shift into reverse. How can you get it where it needs to be? Look to next Thursday’s full moon to make it happen, to set a new reality into play.

Virgo
August 22 - September 22

Life is moving on, but have you? Mercury’s retrograde tour through Cancer sets you on a review of what was and what could have been. Neptune retrograde can tempt you to foolishness, but look to Venus in Taurus to keep you wise and keep it real. Next Thursday’s full moon delivers a timely message, piece of news, insight, release, or completion.

Libra
September 22 - October 23

Saturday and Sunday, you’re onto one thing after another. The Libra moon keeps you on the ball. You’ll put synchronicity to good use. While Mercury retrograde can change the plan, the program, or the need, Sunday’s Venus/Pluto trine holds it steady where it adds up most. It all works out in the end. By Thursday, you’re launched or done.

Scorpio
October 23 - November 22

The weekend could spring something unexpected. You might be let off the hook, a door could swing open, or a genius moment could get it cooking for you. Mercury retrograde in Cancer is an ideal time to take a trip home, to revisit places, faces, and old haunts. Thursday’s full moon dishes up something major regarding finances, partnership, education, publishing, or a legal matter.

Sagittarius
November 22 - December 21

It’s a social weekend, perhaps unexpectedly so. You’ll spend, but it’s easily justified on necessity or being well deserved. Mercury retrograde in Cancer can tighten loving bonds. It can also stir up vulnerability or attachment issues. If you feel the need for cave dwelling, it won’t be for long. Thursday’s full moon thrusts you into full flight. Expect an answer, a result, or big news.

Capricorn
December 21 - January 19

Venus in Taurus helps you to hold your own, no matter what the weekend or Mercury retrograde throws your way. In fact, should you need to revise or revisit, you can work it to your advantage. You could change your mind or opinion about a key someone, or they could do a reverse on you. Thursday defines the future.

Aquarius
January 19 - February 18

Some things are set in stone, and some are not. Mercury retrograde can uncover what’s weak, vulnerable, or in need of a second look. Don’t stay attached to outcome, and modify as the moment dictates. Next Thursday’s full moon can take you away or blow you away. Watch for a special event or a big announcement.

Pisces
February 18 - March 19

Build extra flexibility into your weekend—Mercury retrograde could throw your social or romantic plans off track. Something unexpected could come up, or perhaps you’re the one to switch tracks. Neptune retrograde also shifts your attention and personal priorities. Thursday’s full moon seals the deal officially, brings results, takes you to your destination or finish line.
