Canadian fashion lines Joao Paulo Guedes and Sara Laurence will be hosting a pop-up shop at the Playground Gallery (434 Columbia Street) beginning this Thursday (March 17) in celebration of Vancouver Fashion Week.

The three-day affair will offer Vancouverites an exclusive opportunity to nab graphic streetwear attire from Guedes’s eponymous line and bejeweled accessories by Lori-Anne Jackson, designer of Sara Laurence.

Known for his edgy, gothic-inspired menswear, Guedes recently debuted his new fall/winter 2016 collection at Toronto Fashion Week. He participated in last night’s opening gala for Vancouver Fashion Week and will present his entire fall/winter line—which is inspired by bacteria and viruses—this Friday (March 18) at the Chinese Cultural Centre (50 East Pender Street).

The Sara Laurence brand, meanwhile, is a well-established name in the bridal industry. Jackson’s latest line of embellished hair accessories and jewellery lean more toward the contemporary and her custom pieces have been sported by stars such as Taylor Swift and Olympic figure skater Shae-Lynn Bourne.

Both designers will be present at this weekend’s pop-up shop, where Vancouverites will be able to get a first look at their respective collections.

The Joao Paulo Guedes and Sara Laurence pop-up shop takes place from this Thursday to Saturday (March 17 to 19) at 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For more information or to RSVP, check out the event's Facebook page.
