SoCal accessories line Richer Poorer wraps up its downtown pop-up this weekend.

April 1–11: Richer Poorer pop-up shop

SoCal-born accessories line Richer Poorer was recently acquired by the Vancouver-based Shoes.com, and it’s slowly making its way into the Canadian market beginning with a pop-up shop at 799 Burrard Street. From now until Monday (April 11), you can stop by to peruse the brand’s trendy “innerwear” pieces, starting at $10, like camo-and-striped moisture-wicking socks, hula girl–printed boxer briefs, and comfy, 100-percent organic cotton T-shirts. For the ladies, Richer and Poorer has cooked up a range of classic, knee-high, and low-rise stockings adorned with polka-dots, pineapples, paper cranes, and more. There’s even a line of graphic grip socks: perfect for tackling your yoga, barre, and Pilates classes in style. Once the shop wraps up, the space will be converted into Shoes.com’s first standalone store in Vancouver.

Elroy Apparel is one of 30 vendors who will be displaying at this year's Nifty for Fifty.

      April 10: Nifty for Fifty

Vancouver’s annual indie blowout sale returns to Heritage Hall (3102 Main Street) this Sunday (April 10) from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with 30 local designers peddling goods for rock-bottom prices. Like the sale’s name suggests, not a single item will be over $50, so you can make the most of that ailing Canadian dollar by bringing home a bounty of handcrafted clothing, jewellery, and housewares. Browse graphic belt buckles from Flight Path Designs, luxe Native American–inspired blankets by Elroy Apparel, and the sparkling jewellery and yogi apparel from a few of our favourite new vendors. Feeling peckish? Take five at the Tacofino and Via Tevere food trucks, which will be stationed outside all afternoon. Entry at the door is $2 and vendors will only be accepting cash.
