Vancouver-based adventure wear company Tilley is opening a new store at 1750 West Broadway.

The family-owned store, known for its made-in-Canada traveling hats, will welcome founder Alex Tilley during its grand opening this Saturday (April 16), where he will be signing hats from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will be Tilley’s first public engagement since retiring early last year.

Tilley Vancouver first opened in 1985, after its founder crafted a hat that would be able to withstand the elements while sailing. The store now carries travel apparel and accessories for both men and women, including dresses, outerwear, and bags.

Tilley Vancouver’s grand opening celebration takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Refreshments and door prizes will also be available, and the first 50 guests will receive a free pair of Tilley socks.
