A woman will face a mischief charge for burning a Pride flag at UBC during the university's OUTweek in February.

Brooklyn Marie Fink will appear in a Richmond court on Tuesday (April 26) and is charged with mischief under $5,000, according to the CBC.

The Pride Collective at UBC found that their rainbow flag had been burned on the student flagpole on February 9. Consequently, a campus march for LGBT rights was cancelled due to security concerns but all other events carried on as planned.

After the flag burning, Vancouver City Hall and the Vancouver School Board both flew Pride flags in solidarity with the UBC Pride Collective.
