H&M’s older, more refined sister is set to land in Western Canada as early as this September.

COS, or Collection of Style—which is owned by the same parent company as H&M—has announced that it will open its first Vancouver store at 18 Water Street in Gastown. It will take the place of Zientte Interiors, which reaches the end of its lease this July.

Situated in a heritage building, the 3,024-square-foot space will feature streamlined interiors and mid-century furnishings that go hand in hand with the shop’s minimalist men’s and women’s fashions.

The shop will be the third Canadian stop for COS following openings in Toronto and Montreal last year. The brand has also announced plans to open a fourth storefront in Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

“Since our launch in the market last year, we have received a positive response from our Canadian customers,” said COS managing director Marie Honda in a press release, “and we hope they will enjoy our new stores in Toronto and Vancouver.”

Gastown’s COS will carry mens- and womenswear, including footwear, accessories, and jewellery. The brand is well known throughout Europe for its timeless, reasonably priced fashions, which emphasize clean lines, unfussy silhouettes, and a palette dominated by easy-to-wear neutrals.

More information about COS’s Vancouver opening will be posted once available. In the meantime, check out a sneak peek of the brand’s offerings in the gallery above.
