Holt Renfrew’s Vancouver flagship is now home to a brand spanking new men’s concept store and an in-house café following the first-phase completion of a 40,000-square-foot expansion.

Now accessible via a new entrance on Howe Street, Holt Renfrew Men builds on the retailer’s premium menswear offerings with the introduction of 15 new brands, including Amiri, Officine Générale, Lardini, and Wooster/Lardini.

These labels join existing names like Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Tom Ford, and Paul Smith, each of which offers a range of men’s apparel, accessories, and footwear.

Designed by the same brains behind Holt’s first Holt Renfrew Men shop in Toronto, the space features custom mosaic tile flooring, blackened stainless-steel fixtures, and blue leather furnishings, plus two personal shopping suites, a master tailor shop, and a shoe shine and sneaker-cleaning service.

Atop Holt Renfrew Men and adjacent to expanded sections for Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., and David Yurman in the new luxury wing, the Holt Café has also made its debut. The 80-seat, 1,750-square-foot restaurant reflects the West Coast in its feel and design: all softened lines, shades of ocean-evoking blue, and elegant woods.

Works by Canadian art studio Moss & Lam and Toronto-based ceramist Alissa Coe are also featured.

The menu draws similarly from Vancouver’s coastal point, offering famished shoppers lunch, dinner, and brunch options. Executive chef Nicolas Hipperson, formerly of the now-closed C Restaurant and Raincity Grill, emphasizes regionally sourced ingredients in his plates, which include seared Hokkaido scallops, coffee-crusted skirt steak, and Salt Spring Island mussels.

An impressive selection of gourmet teas provided by Toronto’s Sloane Fine Tea Merchants and a house-cocktail list, which boasts sips like the Beauty and the Beast (bourbon, amaretto, honey, and thyme) and the Holts Therapy (a blend of lavender-infused gin, lemon, lychee, and Lillet blanc) are also available.

Meanwhile, Holt notes that Gucci, Prada, Dior, Tom Ford, and Fendi will be making their way to larger spaces in the store. Earlier this year, French label Chanel relocated to Holt’s ground level with the opening of a boutique shop-in-shop.

A 7,000-square-foot personal shopping department titled “The Apartment”, an expanded women’s footwear section, and new jewellery, leather goods, home décor, and beauty areas are also in the works.
