North America's largest Rolex bouqitue—and Western Canada's first—has officially opened at 1119 Alberni Street. The shop conducted a grand opening party, attended by Rolex representatives, last night (October 27).

Operated in partnership with local watch and jewellery retailer Global Watch Company, the 2,000-square-foot space is modeled after the Oyster, a waterproof wristwatch produced by the Rolex in 1926 that was largely considered the first of its kind at the time.

Aqua glass walls, bronze accents, and high-end fixtures, such as sparkling chandeliers, offer shoppers an elegant space in which they can shop Rolex's full range of timepieces. Watch repairs and maintenance services are also available.

The boutique is located within the Shangri-La Hotel where the establishment's Xi Shi Lounge was once situated. It's the latest luxury retailer to join the increasingly ritzy Alberni Street and the surrounding area, which is now home to Versace, Prada, Moncler, and Saint Laurent.
