Need something to do this Family Day long weekend? Why not get married?

Love in the Square, a pop-up event that weds couples for free, returns to Robson Square (800 Robson Street) for its third year this Sunday (February 12), where Vancouverites will be able to make it official with their respective partners.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the wedding ceremonies will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Couples will be married on a first-come, first-served basis.

Organizers of the event note that Vancouverites should “expect long lines” and advise attendees to dress appropriately for the weather. Completed marriage licenses—left unsigned—are also required.

Although the function is technically free, Love in the Square is asking participants to make a minimum donation of $20 for a “special cause”.

Last year, the event wed 77 couples on Valentine’s Day in Vancouver.
