Fans of locally owned Yaletown boutique Woo to See You will be happy to hear that the store has launched a second location at 3671 Main Street.

Situated smack-dab in the middle of one of Mount Pleasant’s busiest shopping areas, the women’s apparel shop opened earlier this month. It exudes the same easy-breezy vibe as its sister spot in Yaletown though owner Hans Woo has taken care to curate a unique collection of labels.

“We have different brands,” she tells the Straight at Woo to See You on Main, comparing the stock of the two stores. “Some are the same, but we think that this selection is more suitable for this neighbourhood.”

Although Woo to See You has earned a reputation around town for carrying trendy, Korean-designed threads, the boutique also offers lines from London, New York, and Montreal, as well as a healthy assortment of homegrown brands. Like the Yaletown spot, there’s an emphasis on comfortable, wearable, and affordable garments.

“We look for good quality, but not too high-end,” says Woo, who also prefers handcrafted, small-batch items.

Think oversized denim tops by the U.K.–based Waven; paper clutches by Toronto’s Hoi Bo; and stylish raincoats by Scandinavian label Elka. Repping Vancouver are reworked vintage garments adorned with prints of faces and female figures by Millie & Lou; leather totes from Brand & Iron; and silk button-ups covered with playful, fabric-paint patterns by Bianca Barr. The majority of prices range from $40 to $100.

“Being able to connect with local designers and brands has been amazing,” says Woo, who opened Woo to See You in Yaletown in 2014. “That’s a big part of our work.”

At Woo’s Main Street location, you’ll also find a rotating exhibition of locally produced artworks (a project by photographers Darian Wong and Bianca Guthrie is currently featured), plus organic cleansers by Province Apothecary, cheery prints by Swedish-born artist Camilla Engstrom, and a selection of delicate jewellery that includes local makers like Carli Sita, Nepheliad, and Wasted Effort.

Woo says she couldn’t have picked a better ’hood for Woo to See You’s expansion. “This is exactly where I wanted to be.”
