Organic beauty fiends, rejoice! Local natural skincare label Harlow Skin Co. has opened its first storefront and it’s a treat.

Situated at 655 East 15th Street in the heart of the Fraserhood, the shop stocks Harlow’s full line of skin- and body-care goods as well as cosmetics and home items from similarly good-for-you and environmentally friendly brands.

“You can shop and know that everything is sourced ethically, responsibly, and sustainably, and comes from a good place,” Chrystal Macleod, founder of Harlow Skin Co., tells the Straight during a media preview of the space on Thursday (April 20).

Alongside body balms, candles, and face oils handcrafted by Macleod—all of which are made in-house and use no more than 12 ingredients—the new Harlow Atelier also carries cheek-and-lip tints from the Victoria-based Elate Cosmetics; natural deodorants by the Sunshine Coast’s Product of Science & Art; and coconut-and-oat milk baths from the locally based Bébé de Luxe.

Macleod is complementing Harlow Skin’s offerings with face oils, mists, and balms from brands such as Pranic Forest. For the home, shoppers will find handcrafted clay bowls by Barter Design Co.; Polish + Groom cleaning concentrates; and black beeswax candles by Flore Botanical Alchemy.

In addition, Macleod has plans to host community-oriented talks and workshops at Harlow Atelier, as well as pop-up shops by other local craftspeople and designers. “It’s based all around that idea of clean beauty, clean body, clean home,” she says.
