Architectural accents at 18 Karat Home Store

Well-known local architect Peter Cardew is bringing the sleek, studied contemporary lines of his buildings to a new furniture collection at 18 Karat Home Store (3039 Granville Street).

Pieces include almost monastically minimalist benches, stools, and tables made from slatted oak (see left); rectangular marble coffee and side tables that come in white, black, and two shades of grey (below); and striking, multitextured sofas that blend leather and felted wool, rectangles and cylindrical cushions. Prices range from about $480 for a wood stool to about $2,300 for a sofa.
