B.C. Home and Garden Show springs into Vancouver

Comments

With everything from a back-yard bachelor oasis to a power roster of renovation experts, the B.C. Home and Garden Show, which runs until Sunday (February 26) at B.C. Place, is all about spring renewal this year.

On the main stage, Hilary Farr, the interior designer from the W Network’s Love It or List It, gives the lowdown on room additions, renos, and home décor. On the same stage, HGTV’s Bryan Baeumler (of Leave It to Bryan and Canada’s Handyman Challenge) gives his no-nonsense advice on how to prioritize and handle your home renos.

Elsewhere, take a walk through Karoleena Homes’ smart prefab home, named the Kitsilano—the Calgary company’s riff on the West Coast lifestyle. At 1,450 square feet, the modular wood structure is eco-friendly and features furniture by Urban Barn. Or picture yourself with a cold one in the Ultimate Man’s Backyard, a paradise of barbecues, putting greens, and hot tubs.

You can also check out the latest trends in the 9,500 square feet of gardens, with local landscaping experts on hand, or hit the Designlab, a high-tech, interactive exhibit that helps you nail down your personal style before you renovate.

More information and a list of celebrity guests and all 400-plus exhibitors are on the BC Home and Garden Show's website.
