Why: Thick-knit sweaters are everywhere this fall and it seems the chunkier the gauge, the more hip it becomes. Vintage stores are apparently selling out of the handmade hand-me-down sweaters, so high-street shops have jumped on the trend bandwagon. I love this cream-and-turquoise pullover from Zara. It really channels the authentic hand-me-down vibe and gives Grandma a run for her money. This version is slightly cropped, which works perfectly with slim-fit bottoms. The whole way-too-big-borrowed-boyfriend-clothes thing only works if some element of your look is fitted. Wear it with matching blue cigarette pants and blue-suede kitten heels (also available at Zara), or with bright skinny jeans and ankle booties. This is definitely a throwback to the late ’60s, so a faux-bob and a frosty-pink pout will complement the look nicely.
