Gastown Shop Hop spotlights neighbourhood’s stylish gems
Gastown’s popular one-night-only shopping event, the Gastown Shop Hop, happens Thursday (November 17) from 5 to 9 p.m.
This year’s fall Shop Hop (there’s one in May) includes more than 30 of Gastown’s most stylish boutiques, including womenswear, menswear, shoes, and home décor stores. Special in-store vouchers and discounts will be offered at participating shops, and many boutiques will also have free drinks, goodies, and music.
Pick out a new holiday dress or a few fun accessories to jazz up a winter outfit at One of a Few/Two of a Few (354/356 Water Street), Ishara (38 Water Street), and 212 (454 West Cordova Street). Stop by Oak & Fort (32 Water Street), LYNNsteven (225 Carrall Street), and Nouvelle Nouvelle (209 Abbott Street) to stock up on cozy sweaters. Then swing by John Fluevog (65 Water Street), Nika (205 Abbott Street), and Rowan Sky (334 West Cordova) to scout out a new pair of shoes.
Gastown is increasingly becoming a standout shopping district for menswear. Guys headed to the Shop Hop should not miss Neighbour (125-12 Water Street), Roden Gray (8 Water Street), Sharks & Hammers (54 Alexander Street), or the Block (350 West Cordova Street). Find one-of-a-kind shades and specs at Bruce Eyewear (219 Abbott Street).
If you’re in the market for a new sofa or want to get some holiday shopping done early, stop by Parliament (115 Water Street), Nood (151 Water Street), Orling & Wu (28 Water Street), and the Old Faithful shop (320 West Cordova Street) for some inspiration.
Finally, cap off an epic shopping trip at one of seven participating Shop Hop restaurants and bars: the Pourhouse (162 Water Street), Lamplighter (92 Water Street), Metropole (320 Abbott Street), Salt Tasting Room (45 Blood Alley), Judas Goat (27 Blood Alley), Irish Heather (210 Carrall Street), and Sea Monstr Sushi (55 Powell Street).
