Local designers old and new flock to Spend on Trend
Spend on Trend show will take place at the Heritage Hall (3102 Main Street) from September 14 to 16. Now in its ninth year, the fashion event features local clothing and jewellery designers showcasing items from their fall 2012 collections.
Browse local favourites such as Daub & Design’s hand-dyed leggings and scarves, Elroy Apparel’s fashion-forward womenswear, Filou’s nature-inspired accessories, Piknic Designs’ flower-power handmade dresses, Irit Sorokin jewellery, and more.
New to this year’s Spend on Trend show are Mulierose, a Vancouver-based eco- and upcycled-clothing line; Thinkhead, maker of smart graphic T-shirts; Smitten, which creates handmade knitted accessories; Sugar and Candy, a Victoria-based handbag lines; and creampuff by gg, which makes sexy undergarments that women actually want to wear.
Spend on Trend will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. on September 14, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 15, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 16. Admission is $5 and tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the door. The first 25 people in line each day will receive a gift.
