Photos: Underwear Affair raises $633,000 for B.C. Cancer Foundation
This weekend if you saw people running through the streets of Vancouver in their skivvies, don't be alarmed.
The most likely explanation is that they were participants in the seventh annual Underwear Affair, which raises money for cancers below the waist.
This year's event drew 1,035 runners and walkers. It raised $633,000 for the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the support and engagement of British Columbians who chose to take part in the Underwear Affair this year,” Douglas Nelson, president and CEO of the B.C. Cancer Foundation, said in a news release.
Nearly half of all newly diagnosed cases of cancer are below the waist, involving such areas as the prostate, cervix, colon, ovaries, and bladder. For more information, go to the B.C. Cancer Agency website.
Below, you can see photos taken at the event.

633,000 ( that took some effort well done ) but does anyone know how that cash is being used and how it's been abused . Any fool hearty being can raise money , but what you do with it is the real test . The Cancer Fight is a huge business and that business has little to do with the health of you and me and truly dealing with cancer and it's causes . You would be better off giving the money directly to a cancer patent rather than the fucking cancer society .
Great doc. on the con of the cancer fight
