The Wind in the Willows

For 60 years, the London-based Folio Society has sought to publish beautiful versions of classic books at affordable prices. Their catalogue is impressive (browse it at www.foliosociety.com/), and nestled within is a lush version of Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows ( £28.95), illustrated by North Vancouverite Charles van Sandwyk. Van Sandwyk describes the process of setting Grahame's distinctive characters to paint in a free lecture this Tuesday (March 21) at Library Square (350 West Georgia Street), beginning at 7:30 p.m. Van Sandwyk is a national resource; do yourself a favour and see his work firsthand.
