Your horoscope for December 20 to 26, 2012

The world might not end when the Mayan calendar does on December 21, but it’s already ended for the folks of a small town in the U.S. Somewhere out there, the world ends every day. What about sudden collective enlightenment? It may not be in the way so many expected, but we are coming together with greater frequency to share in the collective grief of those who have lived, loved, and lost.

The universe sends out the enlightenment signal as a continuous flashbulb, but we are blind to it most of the time. We find it more commonly when we search through the rubble of tragedy and evil’s rampage. Let us affirm that someday we will no longer be the authors of such pain and suffering. Let us hold to the vision of a joyous, loving, and abundant future. And with fervent devotion to the greater good of all, let’s make it so.

Officially launching Capricorn month and wind-it-down time, the winter solstice occurs at 3:12 a.m. on Friday. Even so, through Saturday evening, Venus/Jupiter keeps it going to the max.

Christmas Day’s Gemini moon dishes up better social stars than we’ve seen for a few years. The fresh boost of Mars into Aquarius at 4:40 p.m. makes the day seem like two rolled into one. The sun/Uranus can dish up friction or disruptiveness at suppertime, but monitor for sugar overload, skim past it, and all will be fine.

I wish you and yours the brightest of blessings for the holidays! With love, Rose.

Aries
March 19 - April 19

On Thursday/Friday, put yourself first. Saturday night, enjoy, but know too much of a good thing is just that. Live-wire stars keep Christmas Day clipping right along. Late afternoon, Mars, the sun, and Uranus can stir things up or dish up a surprise. On the symbolic soul level, the winter solstice marks the start of a long-awaited fruition chapter regarding professional and intimate relationships.

Taurus
April 19 - May 20

Friday’s winter solstice hits a perfectly timed refresh button. Saturday night, if you can’t get on the same page, go separate ways and keep everyone happy. On Christmas Day, take it as it comes and don’t get in a knot over small stuff. You may have to improvise or accommodate another, but you’ll find it works best that way.

Gemini
May 20 - June 20

Thursday/Friday, the stars help you make a dent in the must-do pile. You can get through to another more easily too. Saturday through Monday, keep plugging away—you’ll get there. On Christmas Day, the Gemini moon puts you at your sparkling best. Mars in Aquarius revs you up even more in the second half of the day.

Cancer
June 20 - July 22

Your coping skills, time management, and personal effectiveness are in good shape as the workweek finishes. A getaway-from-it-all Saturday night hits the spot. Hiding out Christmas Day could be your preference, but gathered together will work its magic on you, no matter what your preconceptions are. Mars, the sun, and Uranus can make for a noisy and/or boisterous dinnertime.

Leo
July 22 - August 22

Christmas Day gets more entertaining the longer it goes on. You’ll catch a second wind by dinnertime. For you, the Mayan calendar end signals the beginning of a profound correction-and-healing chapter. Your soul work now tugs harder on crystallized emotions of an earlier life thread. It also taps inherent skills and knowledge that are as of yet underresourced.

Virgo
August 22 - September 22

Long ago, you made a promise to your soul to live a
fulfilling and self-honouring life. December 21 is the date you’ve chosen for the launch of pay-up time. The winter solstice begins an empowerment and reward cycle. On Christmas Day, you can’t do
it all or be it all. As soon as you stop worrying, you’ll start enjoy-ing yourself.

Libra
September 22 - October 22

Quick and simple does the trick as the week finishes out. This Christmas will prove to be one of your best in a while. Something or someone unexpected could make your day especially noteworthy. Be it family, love, or as-yet-untapped talents, the symbolic karmic implication of the winter solstice/Mayan calendar end leads you to reclaim a precious treasure chest from lifetimes ago.

Scorpio
October 22 - November 21

No matter how much extra there is to get through, the week ends smoothly. Friends and family make this a special Christmas. Even so, your heart stays occupied by thoughts of those who are not with you now, and a carrot or wish list that keeps stoking you. The winter solstice/Mayan calendar end marks the official conclusion of a lengthy transition cycle.

Sagittarius
November 21 - December 21

Thursday/Friday and Saturday night keep you going strong and long. At the start of Christmas Day, you’re likely to sit back and enjoy watching others do their thing. By suppertime, it’s an altogether different matter. The Mayan calendar symbolism suggests the beginning of a new-you era. The time is ripe to undertake the commitment you’ve avoided for so long.

Capricorn
December 21 - January 20

You have more to get through than the Christmas rush. Thursday’s winter solstice marks a personal set-yourself-free, get-on-with-it chapter. Unresolved emotions remain, but you can no longer allow yourself to be burdened by them. While the visits run
well enough, Christmas Day holds the bittersweet. There’s a void, and you feel it.

Aquarius
January 20 - February 18

While Venus/Jupiter keeps the overload going strong, Friday’s winter solstice begins a subtle but welcome shift. By Sunday, it’s time to call it quits and park it right where you are. Christmas Day hits the mark. You’ll strike it up again and/or be game for a fresh round by suppertime, thanks to Mars entering Aquarius.

Pisces
February 18 - March 19

Thursday/Friday puts you on a fast and productive track. While the winter solstice can see you break your own rules or a budget ceiling, it also signals a time to let yourself off the hook regarding obligation or regret. On Christmas Day, you’ll cater to others, but you have to admit that you’ll get the goods out of it too.
