Your horoscope for March 29 to April 4, 2012

A new NDP leader, a new federal budget, a sudden blow for Daniel Sedin, the U.S. primaries—so far, Mercury retrograde certainly has been a game changer.

Accurate birth times are always important to an astrologer (dear names in the news, please send them to me!) but there’s still plenty that can be told without them.

Mercury retrograde and sun/Uranus have shone favour on Scorpio-born Thomas Mulcair. With five natal planets in Scorpio, he certainly has what it takes to be a formidable political strategist. His destiny has already hit the ground running and will continue for the spring term. The real proving time will come in the fall of 2012 and spring of 2013, when he will tested by Saturn’s reformat through Scorpio.

Conversely, Mercury retrograde has not been kind to Libra Daniel Sedin. Saturn is currently restricting the sign of Libra, which may make for one instead of two twins on the ice for the rest of this season. Be reminded of the four key Mercury activation dates: Mercury/Uranus: March 5, March 18, and April 22; and Mercury/sun: March 21, the day Daniel was hit. More should be known around April 17 to 23 when Mercury will complete on Daniel’s Saturn/sun conjunction. He could return to the ice by this time, but Mars transiting his sun in the middle of July is a more likely ready-set-go time.

The forge-ahead federal budget makes its debut on Thursday’s sun/Pluto power play. The long weekend is ideal for taking a break, calling it quits, or cooling the jets with a time-out. Starting Tuesday morning, Venus in Gemini puts more into circulation and gets talk moving again. Mercury retrograde ends on Wednesday at 3:11 a.m., but stay vigilant. A full moon builds.

Aries
March 19 - April 19

Thursday is likely to get you fired up and racing along. Beyond cutting loose for the long weekend, it’s the right time to take a stab at something new. Monday and Tuesday, you should find yourself on a gain. Venus in stimulating Gemini gets a new dialogue moving. Whatever’s been on hold or on brew will now thrust forward.

Taurus
April 19 - May 20

Beyond setting a switch-up for the long weekend, Thursday’s sun square Pluto forces a significant personal breakthrough. The truth of the moment is a reality that can no longer be denied. Now through Good Friday’s full moon you’ll confront and surpass even more. Tuesday and Wednesday call for a fresh game plan. Venus in Gemini offers viable new options to explore.

Gemini
May 20 - June 20

Mercury’s backtrack has likely stacked up more uncertainty, doubt, or confusion. The limitations are formidable stumbling blocks, but you also have more going for you now, too. Thursday and Friday set you free—or set you straight. Yes, there’s more dilemma, biding time, or steps to face, but as of Tuesday, Venus in Gemini improves your ability to connect, communicate, and attract.

Cancer
June 20 - July 22

Even though Mercury continues in retrograde until early Wednesday morning, Thursday and Friday can force your hand and/or see you break important new ground where you desire it the most. Don’t look for approval first. Follow your instincts and take an independent initiative. Action will deliver all the proof and confidence-building validation you need. Do what you can as you can.

Leo
July 22 - August 22

A long weekend to fritter away or to do as you please couldn’t be better timed. Then again, whether you have plans set or simply conjure and ponder, the stars will have you going places. Through next Friday’s full moon you’re under pressure to get a point across, to finish it off, and/or to get a new fire started.

Virgo
August 22 - September 22

As you learn to be less affected by what others think, say, or do, your vulnerability will diminish and self-confidence will increase. The coming week’s forge-ahead urges you to demonstrate what you are made of. The stronger the show—or the more commanding or instigating you are—the more you’ll bring to the table and the more you’ll get too.

Libra
September 22 - October 22

Push-comes-to-shove can prove more than you felt ready for on Thursday or Friday. On the other hand, the weekend can bring a welcome break from the pressure cooker, even though “long” won’t seem to describe how it feels. Although you may think or feel you’ve reached an end or run out of options, the new week adds something more. Stay alert. Read between the lines.

Scorpio
October 22 - November 21

Leave work or worry where it belongs and let yourself off the hook this weekend as best you can. Try not to trade one pressure for another. Body, mind, and soul could use an intense spring cleaning. Sunday and Monday are as good as it gets. Tuesday onward calls for more investment or another try. Don’t take it at face value. Dig deeper.

Sagittarius
November 21 - December 21

On Thursday and Friday, the stars are fired up and so are you. When passion, need, or outrage strikes, you aren’t likely to hold back much. Give yourself extra leg room this weekend. While ceilings, limitations, and holdups continue to present challenges, you can sideline or work around them. At the start of the week, you may think you aren’t getting through, but you are.

Capricorn
December 21 - January 20

There’s no turning back now. Thursday and Friday bring it to the cutoff point and provoke action. Uncertainty exists, but you can’t stop what’s already in motion. From Monday and Tuesday through next Friday’s full moon, opposing forces make outer reconciliation a necessary task and inner reconciliation a double-edged sword. What’s broke must be fixed; what’s done must be finished off.

Aquarius
January 20 - February 18

Factor the new or unplanned as a first priority or a top contender. Something could slip out that wasn’t meant to be said, but in reality there are no mistakes. Watch for a hint, added information, or a preview, and work it to your advantage. Of course, timing is everything. Next week builds it piece by piece.

Pisces
February 18 - March 19

Thursday and Friday call for a new plan of attack. It may be a radical shift from what you have expected or planned for yourself, but take dictation from the moment and you’ll break yourself out of a stalemate or jam. Two steps forward, one back; the push-pull continues through to next Friday’s full-moon peak.

Ah, Mercury retrograde - it messes with astrologers too...

I apologize for this week's forecast confusion - the astrology is correct, but as you all know, the long weekend is next weekend, not this one.

Blessings to all..
