CAT KILLER - March 5 - March 15, 2015

“A stunning theatrical experience where reality and the virtual world meet!”

A Co-Production of Presentation House Theatre and Theatre Wrede + (Germany) in collaboration with the Capilano University Theatre Program

Presentation House Theatre is thrilled to present the North American premiere of Cat Killer, a daring theatrical experience that blends live theatre with guided video imagery.

Based on a real incident that took place in Ottawa in the 1990’s where over 400 cats went missing over a two month period, Cat Killercombines a “video walk” experience with promenade style theatre (where the audience is guided to different locations). This one-of-a-kind interactive production puts the audience “inside the head” of an avid video gamer suspected of killing the cats. With the aid of hand-held cameras, the audience encounters both recorded and live characters as they piece together motivation and responsibility for certain acts. This riveting production also explores the impact that video games have on our ability to empathize with other humans and creatures. Has the violence within video games desensitized us to the point where our ability to feel compassion and love are compromised? Don’t miss this visceral piece of storytelling that will stay with you long after the show!

“Cat Killer – enthralling, mysterious, revolutionary, brilliant …a stroke of luck in theatre…an event for all senses.” - OldenburgerOnlinezeitung
