Join the UBC Mental Health Awareness Club (UBC MHAC) and the Mood Disorders Society of Canada for the first annual Defeat Depression 5K Walk/Run at UBC Vancouver!

11:30AM - Welcome & Announcements
11:45AM - Yoga warm-up
12:00PM - Runners start (5km)
12:15PM - Walkers start (5km or less if you wish to walk a shorter route)
Be sure to stay for refreshments, socializing, and announcement of prize winners! There will also be booths from mental health services like SASC, the Peer Support Network, and MHAC at the event.

There is no registration fee, but we encourage all participants to reach out to their family and friends to raise discussion on mental health and help us reach our fundraising goal of $7,500. All funds raised will go to local mental health projects (75%) and national initiatives (25%) toward positive mental health promotion and access to support services. 1 in 5 Canadians live with a mental illness, many of whom are suffering in silence. This could be a friend, family member, or neighbour; by showing your support, you are helping to reduce the stigma.
