VANCOUVER, B.C. - You are invited by comedian Dick Darrow as he hosts a throwback evening of variety comedy at Yuk Yuks Comedy Club (Vancouver) at 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Reminiscent of traditional 19th century Vaudeville, this show will transport audiences to a time when freak shows and celebrity cameos provided a backdrop of fun to rambunctious crowds seeking laughs.

“Rich people went to the opera,” says Dick Darrow, host and producer. “But regular people – people seeking a good time – they went to see Vaudeville. Hosted with shtick and all kinds of comedy, it’s something different, like The Fringe, but this isn’t in someone’s garage.”

In this high production show rife with magic, burlesque, escape artistry, ventriloquism, stand-up comedy, singing and more, more, more, the only thing that can be expected is big laughs.

With an incredible diversity of talented performers, this is a show that should not be missed. Especially not for the opera.

Shirley Gnome — Explicitly hilarious songwriter
Recently nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award Best Variety Act, Shirley Gnome is a self-styled musical comedian and songwriter. Armed with only a guitar and a sass mouth, this chanteuse provocatrice belts out original tunes about the embarrassing, profound, and hilarious adventures that happen when bodies collide. Her music, while smothered in explicit language and racy humour, is sung with the voice of "an angel dry-humping a cloud." She was the Grand Prize Winner of Vancouver’s People’s Champ of Comedy Competition and has appeared at the Edinburgh and St. Ambroise Fringe Festivals.
