Carousel Theatre for Young People is delighted to introduce Vancouver families to Dot & Ziggy, a gentle, interactive theatre experience for babies, toddlers and their caregivers. A fresh take on family entertainment, theatre for the very young is a gentle and immersive storytelling experience enjoyed in an intimate studio space. Children, parents and caregivers sit on mats as the action happens all around them, and little ones are welcome to move and interact as they experience theatre on their terms.

Dot and Ziggy may be neighbours, but they aren’t yet friends. After all, what could a ladybug and a skunk possibly have in common? One likes up, one likes down. One flies, one runs. But neither of them knows how to share. With the help of a wise spider, and the encouragement of the audience, they just might find their way.

CTYP audience favourites Kayla Dunbar (Busytown, Seussical) and Dustin Freeland (Shakespearean Rhapsody, Busytown) bring Dot and Ziggy’s friendship to life with award-winning Director Carole Higgins at the helm. Dot & Ziggy was created by Linda Hartzell and Mark Perry, with music by Chris Walker, originally for Seattle Children’s Theatre. Costumes are designed by Stephanie Kong, Puppet Design by Annett Matteo, and Set & Properties by Jennifer Lupton. Stage Management by Ashley Noyes.

ABOUT CAROUSEL THEATRE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE:

Founded in 1976, Carousel Theatre for Young People provides playful, exceptional and accessible theatrical experiences that inspire, involve and educate. Each season approximately 40 000 young people and their families benefit from CTYP’s programming. At Carousel Theatre for Young People we believe that the arts play a vital role in a young person’s development. We envision a community that empowers people to be more imaginative, expressive and engaged. It takes a village to raise a child. CTYP is an integral part of that village.
