Robert Lynds Gallery is pleased to present the work of Rachel Vanderzwet, Mandy Lyn Perez, and Nathalie Quagliotto in the group-exhibition “Out Of Town Guests”. The exhibition will consist of painting, sculpture, and neon works addressing themes of quirk and humor through the artists’ playful approach to art making. The process-based paintings of Vanderzwet and Perez concentrate on the visual signature and language occurring in painting. Guided by intuition and material investigations their work references quotidian delights while poised on the outskirts of recognition. Quagliotto’s sculpture and neon work creates comical disruptions through the reconfiguration of common public objects associated with disuse, strict social regulations, safety, and risk.

Rachel Vanderzwet is an MFA candidate at the University of Victoria and has an Honours BA in Studio Art from the University of Guelph. Vanderzwet has shown nationally in Guelph, Toronto and Vancouver, is currently living in Victoria and is represented by RLG. Mandy Lyn Perez recently received her BA from the University of California Los Angeles, and lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Nathalie Quagliotto is a Toronto based conceptual artist, holding a MFA from the University of Waterloo from 2009 and a BFA from Concordia University from 2007.

Established in 2012, Robert Lynds Gallery is an intimate space located in the armoury district in Kitsilano, Vancouver. Robert Lynds Gallery represents established contemporary artists who demonstrate analytic art practices. RLG presents a vision that focuses on setting a precedent in exhibiting local/national and international works, while aiming to advance the intellectual and material vanguard; engaging public and industry discourse on local and international platforms. The gallery publishes the magazine, MAGTEAR, which concentrates on attracting and inspiring diverse audiences in its dedication to advocating the advancement of knowledge pertaining to the arts.
