In 2012, #HAJIGALLERISTS did a painting exhibition, “Red” with Hong Kong Repertory Theatre in Hong Kong. “Red” is an award winning Broadway play about the legendary Russian-American artist Mark Rothko. The play is adapted in Cantonese by Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, the longest standing and largest professional theatre company. “Red” premiered at Hong Kong City Hall Theatre on July 6, 2012.

The “RED” exhibited at Hong Kong City Hall on July 6 to July 15, 2012 and H.A.J.I. Gallery on July 18 to July 31, 2012. Co-presented by Foster Eastman, Mini Choi, and Michael Lee, RED is multi-media art exhibition curated by #HAJIGALLERISTS.

As extended explorations riding on the experiences from the play on Mark Rothko, or a painting exhibition about a play, RED redefines a group of artists’ cognitions on “Red”. In 2015, #HAJIGALLERISTS and Foster Eastman co-present “Red” in Vancouver, Canada. After 3 years, we are taking the Red exhibition to a whole new level, with the participation of Mini Choi, Foster Eastman, Donald Graham, John Grey, Chet Lam (Lam Yat Fung), Jeremy Lee, and Michael Lee, the new 2.0 version of Red exhibition shows how the artists revolutionised the new red in various forms of art media including installation, music, painting, photography, and multi-media works. For centuries, artists strived to use the best reds to express the spirit and symbolism of this color. Red references various ways by which red has figured into cultures around the world. Red has colored the finest art and expressions
of our daily life. The symbolic meaning of red signified the extremeness: power, passion, danger, courage, anger, romance, and even violence. In the Red exhibition, artists recreate Red-ism.
Exhibition Tee powered by WRONGWORKS.
