On August 19th, Roedde House Museum launches a new exhibition on the origins of Vancouver tourism and travel. “Souvenirs of Howe Sound: A History of Local Tourism” traces the rise of well-known Howe Sound getaways such as Bowen Island, Horseshoe Bay, and the Sunshine Coast, in the context of Vancouver’s colonization and urbanization. Narrated through historical photographs and promotional posters of Howe Sound from the early to mid-twentieth century, the exhibition captures the sense of wonder that early settlers experienced travelling up BC’s stunning coastline and invites reflection on what it means to view the landscape as a tourist.

The exhibit will continue to be on display from August 19th to November 1st, 2015. The museum's hours are 1-4 Tuesday through Friday, and 1-4 on Sundays. Admission is $5/person and $8 on Sundays for Tea & Tour.
