What is a Skill Share Fair?
It’s a community marketplace that offers guests the chance to learn something new at each booth. Throughout the day we’ll have scheduled workshops running where anyone is welcome to observe or partake in numerous activities. We have a beekeeping 101 session as well as soap making, kombucha creation, sauerkraut lessons, 3D printing demonstrations, whittling, and Bike repair! More to come.

To keep our tummies and hearts full on this cold November day we will provide hot chocolate and baked goods. We believe that every city needs an annual gathering of skill sharers coming together to connect over talent and hands on creation.

Why is this important?
People in Vancouver are retreating from community life. In the past year, most of us have not participated in neighbourhood and community activities. It isn’t a lack of time that stops people from getting involved. The most often-cited reason for not participating in neighbourhood and community life is a feeling that we have little to offer.

We know that people have so much to offer their communities. Our purpose is to showcase this fact. This is an event that is available free to community members and may encourage them to take on a new hobby or connect with someone they might not have had the opportunity to meet before.
