North Vancouver City Library will host an evening with award-winning author Jackie Bateman on Wednesday, May 11, from 7-8:30 p.m. Admission is free and registration is not required. The library is located at 120 West 14th Street.

Local author Jackie Bateman will present an evening of reading and writing, suitable for both beginners and accomplished writers as well as those who love to just come and listen. Jackie will read from her Lizzy trilogy and then facilitate a writing workshop that will get you started, or keep you going, on your own piece of writing. Come spend an evening with one of the North Shore's most talented writers who is also an experienced presenter and workshop leader.

Jackie Bateman grew up in Kenya and lived in London and Edinburgh for many years before settling in Vancouver. Her first novel, Nondescript Rambunctious, won a national First Book Competition in Canada and was published to high critical acclaim. It was subsequently translated for the Netherlands and France.

This is a joint program of City Library and the North Shore Writers’ Association. For more information about library programs and services visit www.nvcl.ca.
