Next Saturday afternoon, celebrate International Jazz Day with a little afternoon outing to the Kino Cafe on Cambie (by the Park Theatre and across from Choices).

The band includes the talents of trombonist Jim Hopson, bassist Graham Clark and pianist Bill Piggott. I’ll be singing some of your favourite jazz standards from your Ella, Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae and Dinah Washington records. Jim has a really mellow lovely tone and inventive solos. Graham is a well-known talent around town, a rock solid fellow and jazz bass whiz. Bill, you may have heard me play with before, he is a multi-instrumental talent with an amazing ear and sense of swing.

All ages are welcome, and entrance is by donation. Beers on tap, the Kino makes lattes, and serve up nachos and other snacks and meals.
