Le Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver is pleased to host the exhibition “Parcours” by painter Francine Desjardins from May 16 to June 30.

The works presented are anchored in a personal use of forms, textures and colours. With a process and a technique that play with the impact of negative spaces and the attraction and repulsion of shadows and light, the works exhibited question ambivalence and complementarity.

During her artistic career, Francine Desjardins has taken part in many art workshops. Her well-recognised work can be found in numerous private collections in North America. Born in Montreal, Francine Desjardins is an experimental artist in mixed techniques who now divides her time between the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver. After studying art at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal, Francine continued her training at the Instituto de Bella Artes in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. She completed her formal artistic training at the prestigious Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver.

The opening of the exhibition “Parcours” will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Centre culturel francophone de Vancouver, with the artist in presence. Wine and cheese will be served.
