The Surrey Hospital & Outpatient Centre Foundation is hosting BC’s first ever charity Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Race in support of kids’ mental health. This SUP event will feature a number of races; a 10KM Competitive Race, 5KM Recreational Race, Kid's Race, Corporate Relay, as well as a SUP Exhibition and Family Activity Zone. The competitive race will have Canada’s largest pool of prize money for a SUP event; $10,000. Participants in the recreational race will be entered to win a trip for two to the legendary Atlantis Resorts, including round trip airfare & seven nights’ accommodation in the Bahamas. Champion of the Crescent is a unique opportunity to help BC’s most vulnerable citizens – children and teens suffering with diseases of the mind that prevent them from attending school, or even relating normally within their families and among friends. Participating in the Champion of the Crescent will help provide a safe place for these children to receive the care and treatment they need. This centre will be located at Surrey Memorial Hospital and will open in 2017.
