Last year’s re-imagining of the Rolling Stones’ Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out! featuring some of Vancouver’s best musicians was such a hit that we had to do an encore. This year, in honour of the monumental loss of rock icon David Bowie we’re thrilled to bring you two nights celebrating The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spider from Mars.

Once again some of BC’s most celebrated musicians will be interpreting the music from this classic album in new and exciting ways. The line-up features Alex Cuba, Jim Byrnes, Ralph Shaw, Ndidi Onukwulu, Roy Forbes, Khari McClelland, Dustin Bentall, Rich Hope, John Reischman, Keri Latimer and more, all under the leadership of Steve Dawson and the Black Hen House Band.

Ziggy Stardust, featuring a bisexual alien rockstar, has been consistently considered one of the greatest albums of all time, with Rolling Stone magazine ranking it the 35th greatest ever. Join us at the gorgeous Kay Meek Centre for two incredible nights of celebration, music, top notch musicians and downright fun.

“I wanted to define the archetype of Messiah-rock star. That’s all I wanted to do. And I used the trappings of Kabuki Theatre, mime technique, fringe New York City music like the Velvet Underground. I wanted that energy value. It was a British view of American street energy…an alien rock star.”
– David Bowie on Ziggy
