Vancouver Heritage Foundation - Restoring Community: Documentary and Discussion on Sustainability, Heritage and Community in Vancouver
Vancity Theatre, 1181 Seymour, Vancouver VHF, with funding from Telus Optik, has commissioned a three-part documentary film series based on case studies completed by summer intern Samuel McFaul. With the assistance of talented local filmmakers, the resulting mini-series looks at three Vancouver projects that display sustainability, heritage and community. The documentaries take an in-depth look at the restoration and infill project at the Gow Block, an energy efficient renovation of a Vancouver Special, and a lane home built behind a heritage home in Grandview-Woodlands. The films include interviews with the building owners, project details from contractors and insight from heritage professionals and historians.
We invite you to join us at the Vancity Theatre for a screening of these short documentaries followed by Q&A and discussion with local heritage professionals. Discussion panel TBC.
This evening is presented in partnership with UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
