Virtuosity, musicality, elegance, sensuality and humour: Quartango’s music evokes deep emotions … even after almost 30 years! Quartango is Stéphane Aubin – piano, Jonathan Goldman – bandoneon, René Gosselin – double bass, and Antoine Bareil – violin. Together, they offer a repertoire ranging from the classic tangos to tango nuevo and Piazzolla. Quartango has charmed audiences across Canada and the United States, and in Tokyo, Taipei, Paris, São Paulo and Guatemala. They stole the show at Carnegie Hall in performance with the New York Pops and have appeared with the National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Orchestre Métropolitain. Quartango has recorded seven award winning CDs. Their latest, Encuentro, was released in October 2013.
The Dancers
Roxana Callegari and Fabian Belmonte become one when they dance, embodying desire, passion, humour, love and sorrow. They dance and teach tango in the United States and Canada, Uruguay, Dominican Republic and Argentina, and have appeared in many of the famous dance halls of their native Buenos Aires. They recently made a cameo appearance in the film Tuxedo, a DreamWorks production. Roxana and Fabian are long-time collaborators of Quartango.
