Erik Bünger - the third man

Swedish artist, composer, musician and writer Erik Bünger performs his internationally renown live lecture and screening, the third man. This wildly entertaining and provocative performance simultaneously analyzes and re-contextualizes popular references to explore everything from the history of recording to pop song ear worms.

Camille Hesketh and Petra van der Schoot

Like an exploratory game singer Camille Hesketh and artist Petra van der Schoot (Amsterdam) present their work consisting of video test footage, audio recordings of court testimony, and the deconstruction of a text’s inherent sound material, resulting in an interplay that offers an experiment in perceptions of its own subtext.a

Artist Biographies

Erik Bünger
Erik Bünger is a Swedish artist, composer and writer living in Berlin. His work revolves around the human voice and its contradictory relationship to the body, to language, to music and to technology. The voice is not addressed as a phenomenon, which gives rise to personal, human presence and interpersonal communication but rather as the very thing that allows something other, radically inhuman, to enter and take control of the human body.

Camille Hesketh
Whether in early music, classical, contemporary opera, music theatre, chamber or electro-acoustic repertoire , Camille Hesketh is a versatile soprano whose performances have taken her across Europe, to Canada, the US, South America, India and China. She completed her Bachelors degree at the Vancouver Academy of Music, and her Masters at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands. She is an avid collaborator in new works, and in addition to her ongoing work with Canadian composers, she has performed in international premieres.

Petra van der Schoot
Videographer, visual artist, theatre maker and former cellist. Originally from Breda, she now resides in the Hague Netherlands.
