Bah! Humbug! returns for a seventh year featuring Juno-Award Winning musician Jim Byrnes* as Ebenezer Scrooge. Don't miss this festive, seasonal Woodward's tradition!

With a script that is fine-tuned annually in response to the current issues affecting Vancouver’s DTES, Bah! Humbug! is Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol reconceived: a modern-day, sushi-loving Ebenezer Scrooge owns a pawn shop on Vancouver’s Hastings Street, where he is timing Bob Cratchit’s late arrival to work on his iPhone.

Directed by Max Reimer*, Bah! Humbug! features Juno award-winning musician Jim Byrnes* as Ebenezer Scrooge, actress Margo Kane* as the narrator, actor David Marr as Marley, and gospel and blues singer/actor as Tom Pickett. These Vancouver favourites are joined by a cast of professional and DTES community actors, including Stephen Lytton, winner of the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award. Musical performances are diverse and include pop songs, folk, blues, gospel and industrial rock along with traditional seasonal favourites, directed by Bill Costin.

Strathcona-based artist Richard Tetrault, responsible for over 40 public mural projects in the city, presents large scale projections of his mono-prints and linocuts of the back alleys, ravens, and houses of East Vancouver.

From the songs of Nine Inch Nails to Buffy Sainte Marie, musical performances are diverse and include pop songs, folk, blues, gospel and industrial rock along with traditional seasonal favourites. The angelic sounds of a children's choir will fill the theatre rafters, and the audience will also be invited to sing along with the cast.
