It's the final Hot Club Swing of 2016, and that means party!

Join us on December 3rd for our annual holiday dance, featuring live music by the fabulous Rugcutter Jazz Band, our homemade dessert buffet, and sparkling fruit punch!

As always, we will start the night with a total beginner swing dance lesson--no partner or previous dance experience necessary--before open social dancing to live jazz music. The Vancouver Swing Society firmly believes that anyone can learn to lead or follow, regardless of age, ability, gender expression, or any other aspect of identity. We encourage you to take the lesson as whichever role interests you most in the moment, and stick with that role for the duration of the lesson.

Once the lesson is over, feel free to dance whichever role(s) you want--lead and/or follow whenever you want throughout the night. Remember to ask the person you want to dance with which role they'd like to take for your song, and have fun!

SCHEDULE:

7:50 PM: Doors open
8:00-8:45 PM: Beginner Swing Dance Lesson
8:45-11:59 PM: Socal dancing to the Rugcutter Jazz Band
12:00 AM: Time for bed!

Cost: $15/pp regular
$12/pp Groups of 10+*

* Groups must send their guest list to kaitlin@vanswingsociety.ca by 6 pm on the day of the dance AND/OR arrive altogether/take the beginner lesson to qualify for the group discount.

Hot Club Swing takes place in the Dance Studio of the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre in lovely Yaletown, Vancouver. The Centre is located steps from the Yaletown-Roundhouse Canada Line station, and is also accesible via bike path along the seawall and other community shuttles. There is limited street parking available, and a pay parkade under the Centre itself.

The Roundhouse is wheelchair accessible, with ramps leading to the main entrance, and the Dance Studio being on the main floor.
