Vancouver's Jessie Award-nominated independent theatre company, Seven Tyrants Theatre, presents the Western Canada premiere of Topdog/Underdog by Suzan-Lori Parks, Directed by David Newham at Studio 1398 for ten performances from November 24 to December 3, 2016.

This landmark drama is a darkly comic fable of brotherly love and family identity. The play tells the story of Lincoln and Booth, two brothers whose names were given to them as a joke, foretelling a lifetime of sibling rivalry. Lincoln is a former three-card monte hustler now working as an Abraham Lincoln impersonator in a rundown arcade; Booth is a shoplifter who wants his brother to return to street hustling. Haunted by the past, the brothers are forced to confront the shattering reality of their future.

Topdog/Underdog features a jazz score designed by local musician Daniel Deorksen and performed live by a three-piece jazz orchestra.
